Below are some frequently asked questions. We hope this helps to enrich your experience with Stevenson Studios and make the ordering process and your picture day a breeze.
Picture Day Questions:
Q: What do I need to wear for picture day?
A: Proper clothing allows the face to dominate the portrait, with all other elements being secondary. Patterns tend to overpower a portrait and distract from the face. Darker clothes and coordinated outfits have a slimming effect. Please be sure clothes are school code appropriate.
If it's for school sports or a sports league, please talk to the coaches about jerseys, uniforms, and what color shorts or under shirts they want the student/athlete to wear.
Q: What does my child need to bring to picture day?
A: If you are ordering by cash or check, please have your child bring their order form to our check-in table or photographer. For school picture day, the student need to come down with their classroom (if other arrangements need to be made please talk with your teacher), and bring their best picture ready smile!
For sports, athletes need their order forms (if using cash/check), their best sports smile, and they can bring a piece of equipment to take their photo with (i.e. for baseball, they can bring a bat or glove).
Q: How can I purchase photos? Can I purchase all of my kids in one online order?
A: You can purchase photos online using a credit card by clicking the ORDER tab at the top of this website. Then find your district and event to place your order. You can also purchase photos with cash or check through our paper forms. The school or sports organization have forms on hand or our photographers have forms with them on picture day.
You can purchase all of your children online in one credit card transaction. When on the main page just make sure to add all of your kids at once as long as they are in the same school district. If students are in different school districts then they need to each be ordered on their own order under the district they attend.
Q: Do I need to fill out a form for each child? Can I write one check for all of my kids?
A: Each cash/check order does need a form filled out for each child. However, you can write one check for all of the kids. All we ask is that you put a note on or in the envelope for the kids who do not have cash/check in their envelopes so the forms can stay with their class and we can match the money later.
Q: I lost my form, how can I order?
A: You can always order on our website until Midnight of picture day. If you lost your form before picture day you can pick up an extra form in the office. If it's after picture day, please call the studio and we can guide you to our after event sales.
Q: I can't afford to purchase right now, will I be able to buy photos later?
A: Yes, we have what is called our after season events. These allow you to purchase photos at a later date and they will be shipped directly to your home. These photos are at a slightly higher price because they are fulfilled directly through our lab.
Q: Can I see my photos before I order?
A: You are able to view your photos on our after season events. However, if you want the best prices available we suggest ordering before. We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee with our business.
Q: I can't remember my password/access code, how do I reset it?
A: Passwords/Access Codes are typically specific to each individual child. With some events we will do a master password for the entire event. Please contact the studio at firstname.lastname@example.org or 712-368-3935 to get your individualized password/access code.
Q: How will my order be delivered?
A: Orders will be delivered to the school or league office unless you select ship to home. Students/Athletes may bring photos home after school or practice in their bags. Please be sure to check their bags, lockers, and cars approximately 3-4 weeks after picture day.
Q: Can my order be shipped to home?
A: Your order can absolutely be shipped to home. If you are worried about your child getting the photos home from the school building then we encourage you to select the ship to home option for $4.
After Picture Day Questions
Q: How long will it be before my photos arrive?
A: We typically allow 3-4 weeks turn around time during peak school and fall sport season. Since our lab is nationally known, they can get pretty busy between August to November with schools from across the country submitting photos.
Q: What if I don't like my school photos?
A: Stevenson Studios has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you don't like your original school portrait, we do offer a retake date for your child to come get their photo retaken. We ask that the child bring their FULL original packet back to retake day, and then we will reprint their image with their photo taken on retake day, typically a few days to a week after you receive the first packet.
Q: When is my retake day?
A: Your school district will confirm a retake date with us after photos are delivered. This typically happens 1-2 weeks after photos are delivered or 4-6 weeks after the original picture date. Please check with your school to find out your retake day.
Q: I didn't receive my order, what do I do?
A: If you have not received your order after 5 weeks (from photo date), we ask that you contact Stevenson Studios at email@example.com or 712-368-3935, so that we can resolve the situation.
Q: I forgot to order by the deadline. Can I still get photos?
A: Yes, we have what is called our after season events. These allow you to purchase photos at a later date and they will be shipped directly to your home.
